Introducing a New Route Editor: Trim, Join & Split your GPX Files

You can now Trim, Join and Split your existing routes!

We have just launched our brand new Fix Route tool. This allows the user to trim, join and split existing GPX files.

The Route Editor is now split into two parts:

Re-Create Route - This is the current tool that creates a NEW GPX file based on a route that you have completed.
Fix Route - This is the new tool being launched in this post. It works on EXISTING gpx files that you need to make edits to.

Which tool should I use?
Use the Re-Create tool if you have completely lost your GPX data or forgot to record.
Use the Fix tool if you want to edit an existing gpx file that you have recorded.

We tried trimming and spliting GPX files in other web-based tools and it wasn't easy to do. This new tool should help!

What's New:

  • Trim Tool - Remove unwanted sections from your routes with precision. Perfect for eliminating GPS spikes, warmup sections, or removing sections at the start or end of your ride.

  • Join Mode - Combine multiple GPX files into a single route. Ideal for merging routes you have completed in segments or joining routes that have been accidentally stopped.

  • Split Mode - Divide a single route into multiple activities. Great for extracting specific sections or separating different ride segments.

How It Works:

  1. Upload your GPX file(s) - single or multiple files supported
  2. Choose your mode: Normal (for trimming only), Join (for combining files), or Split (for dividing routes)
  3. Use the tools to trim, join, or split as needed
  4. Download your corrected GPX file ready for Strava, TrainingPeaks, or any training platform

Try It Now

Head over to the Fix Route editor and start fixing your routes with these powerful new tools. The original route re-creation tool is still available and can be accessed via the page selector.
